I have been an industry animator for over several years, producing work for a variety of companies such as Ragdoll Productions, Nestle, Yahoo and Ladybird Books.

Alongside the commercial work, I also facilitate animation workshops to an array of community groups, it is these workshops that I have developed a true passion and drive for.

Let’s Animate was created to help others to experience this passion and express themselves through the media of animation, allowing full participation as everyone experiements to create their very own animated movies from script to screen.

A video created alongside the Belgrade Theatre Coventry.

Working alongside a group of asian women over the age of 50 we were to produce a video to help tell their own personal stories of childhood, growing up and their journey to England.

The video contains a mix of illustrations ( produced by the ladies), artefacts, photos and
made objects.

Below is what I came up with………

After a year in production Pester Power is finally finished and should be rolling out around primary schools in the west midlands very soon.

I will also upload to my website in due course also, so watch this space.

Since my last blog I have been involved in three major projects, these were :

Project 01 – Pester Power

With a rise in small crimes in Coventry The West Midlands police decided it was time to take action.

They approached the Belgrade Theatre for help.  The theatre suggested the creation of a series of stop motion animations based around these petty crimes that would then be shown within primary schools across Coventry and the Midlands, the aim was for the viewing young children to then go home and pester their parents on how to resolve these crimes, hence the name Pester Power.

I was called in by the Belgrade to help develop these ideas, working with selected pupils from President Kennedy, a secondary school in Coventry, I was to design, devise and create 5 short films based on petty crime subjects such as, internet safety, car crime, burglary, bullying and personal safety.

The project ran for 10 weeks and I will soon be showing these films on the ABG workshop youtube page.

Project 02 – Harpoon Marketing

Recently I was approached by Harpoon Marketing to create 4 viral demonstration videos to aid in the promotion of F&C Investments and what this company can offer. The animations were simple green screens with animated text and graphics.

Project 03 – Direct Capital, Offerfuse

This was a lovely little project I completed for an American company called Direct Capital, they required a simple viral animation for their website to explain all about OfferFuse.

So thats why I have been naughtily avoiding my blog for a few months! Keep checking back as I promise to post more now things have settled.

Above are 3 links to 3 films created at Leamington Art Gallery for the one day workshop I facilitate called ‘Animate’.

The Project runs quarterly, I think the children have done a fantastic job considering we only have one day to storyboard, script and animate.

Well heres another update,

I was asked by Malt Films to produce a viral animation for Yahoo, this was to help advertise a product called Yahoo Smart Ads, Malt were great to work with and the project went swimmingly.

Platform Design for New Iphone App 'Bunny Grabbits'

I was asked by Babushka Games to complete all assets for the game, The project was most enjoyable. All designs have now been added to my illustrations page, so go check them out!
